Like people, dogs also like and need a clean dry bed for relaxation and overall health. Most manufacturers create water proof pink dog beds by putting an outside cover or inner padding that resists water. However, if the model you have is not water proof, here are some things you can do on your own to make your pet's bed dry and clean at all times.

• You can use a strong garbage bag to waterproof your pink dog beds. Use the kind that can carry 90 gallons of trash and cannot be torn easily. What you need to do is to remove the original outer layer of the bed. Don’t forget to put the padding inside the trash bag before putting the mattress into it. Smoothen the garbage bag, tie the opening, and insert it into the cover again.
• Outdoor blankets called survival or space blankets are nice temporary solutions for water proofing pink dog beds. These are made from thin, foil-like materials which makes them ideal to make your pet pooch’s bed water resistant. Search in your garage among the things that you brought on your last hiking or mountain climbing adventure. But if you cannot find one, go to the nearest hardware stores. To make the bed water proof, wrap this all around the inner padding after you remove the outer cover and seal it by using a strong adhesive. Put the cover back on. The downside of this is that it creates a crinkling noise whenever your pooch moves.
• You love to pop bubble wraps but instead of wasting it (or your time) doing nonsensical things, why not use it to waterproof your pink dog beds? You can attach a bubble wrap on the outer cover or inside the cover, between the outer layer and the inner padding. Keep in mind that this does not absorb the liquid so always check it and clean it if it’s wet. Moreover, it can get too hot after your dog laid on it for a long time so this can only be used for a short period.
• Use people pads that you can buy from drug stores or other medical supply shops. These are very comfortable since they have smooth and padded surfaces. You can put this inside the cover but if it is large and soft enough, you can use it to cover the outer layer.
• Old or used baby beddings are also ideal to waterproof pink dog beds. If you don’t have any waterproof baby beddings or blankets at home, you can buy these from the department store under baby’s section. These are very comfortable since they are originally made for babies.
• Crates and kennels usually come with crate pads that can absorb liquid. You can use these as covers for waterproofing. Moreover, these can be washed easily by using a washing machine and dry them to re-use.
• Piddle pads are ideal if you want to cover the surface of the bed. This has two sides; one is padded while the other is water resistant. Put the padded side right side up because this is the one that absorbs water. You can buy piddle pads from kiddie stores and pet shops.
Choose the best one that suits your needs and budget. And if you have the money, you can still buy ready-made waterproof pink dog beds for convenience.
